Scholarships for Data Science and AI Masters courses at the University of Birmingham

 

The University of Birmingham offers a scholarship of £10,000 for the 2024-2025 academic year. These are available for nine postgraduate programs in AI and Data Science, aimed at students from underrepresented backgrounds.


More than 100 scholarships will be awarded, with a focus on women, black students, students with disabilities and lower socioeconomic status. Each recipient will receive £10,000 to support the course.


These groups will be the first to allocate funding to ensure that the AI ​​industry is well represented by the community. Deserving students from these underrepresented backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Who is eligible to Apply for these scholarships?

This scholarship is part of an £eight.1 million initiative from the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and the Office for Artificial Intelligence. The intention is to inspire extra women, Black students, disabled students, and students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds to pursue postgraduate applications in artificial intelligence (AI) and facts science. 


To be eligible, students need to:

  • Have UK nationality or residency repute.
  • Must have already submitted a study application to one of the eligible courses at the University of Birmingham before making use of this scholarship.

Note: The scholarship utility breaks free the examine application. You have to practice for your chosen course through its online portal. It is cautioned to submit your examine software first, as your scholarship application will no longer be taken into consideration without it.

What are the closing dates?

Due to the volume of applications, scholarships will be awarded in three stages:


  • Round 1: Ended on Sunday 31st March 2024 at 23:59 (UK time).
  • Round 2: Deadline is Saturday 30th June 2024 at 23:59 (UK time).
  • Round 3: Saturday 31 August 2024 at 23:59 (UK time).

If you are not selected in one round, your application will be automatically considered in the next round, so you do not need to apply again.
